Jerome B. Zeldis, MD, PhD

Executive Vice President of Research

Dr. Jerome B. Zeldis is a distinguished leader in the field of medical research and clinical development. He currently serves as Executive Vice President of Research at NexImmune and previously held the roles of Chief Medical Officer and President of Clinical Research, Regulatory, and Safety at Sorrento Therapeutics. Dr. Zeldis also served as CEO of Celgene Global Health and Chief Medical Officer of Celgene Corporation, where he played a crucial role in the company's growth and development since joining in February 1997 as Senior Vice President of Clinical Research and Medical Affairs.

Prior to his tenure at Celgene, Dr. Zeldis worked in clinical research and medical development at Sandoz Research Institute and Janssen Research Institute. He has served on the boards of several start-up biotechnology companies and is currently on the boards of PTC Therapeutics, Soligenix, and NexGel. Dr. Zeldis has published 122 peer-reviewed articles and holds 43 US patents.

Dr. Zeldis holds an A.B. and M.S. from Brown University and an M.Phil., M.D., and Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University. He completed his training in Internal Medicine at UCLA Center for the Health Sciences and in Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His academic career includes positions as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Davis, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Cornell Medical School, and Professor of Clinical Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
